One of a pair of Rieslings from this producer – this one made with a touch of botrytis and residual sugar. The perfume has apricot, lemon, apple, jasmine, cherry cola and the signature mandarin skin character of the region. The ripe fruit flavour is swaddled in that sweetness but lifted by a sharp acidity. A honeycomb note melds with spice and a chalky phenolic to add complexity and depth. Quite playful and energetic as it evolves and opens up, before a finish which is touch drier and has very good length. 92pts
