A rose made from Pinot Noir grown in the Nelson region. A pale but vibrant coral pink colour in the glass. The perfume has watermelon, cranberry, cherry and strawberry fruits, with candy floss, and red liquorice from the sweet shop, and is also very floral – showing rose and lilac petal notes. Dry, with just a nudge of fruit sweetness and ripeness – the fruit sitting very forward in the palate. Acidity is brisk and lively, giving energy and flow, before the swathe of velvet texture emerges to cosset the back palate. Fruity, crisp, then creamy – simple, mouth-watering and a perfect aperitif or glass for the lunch table. 89pts
