A Riesling from the Schlossböckelheimer Felsenberg vineyard in the Nahe Region of Germany.
A youthful and pale lemon-green colour in the glass. The perfume shows grapefruit, lemon, green apple, chamomile, jalapeno, nougat and a touch of brioche. A crushed-shell minerality starts the palate that is quite austere and bone dry. A salty, crystalline acidity adds more intensity and brings a crunchy juiciness. Savoury notes of wet stone, tonic and pepper refine things further, adding layers to what is otherwise a quite linear and driven palate. Young and zesty but drinks well now, this has great potential for the cellar. 94pts
