Made from 10/5 clone grapes grown at the Hunter’s Home Block on Rapaura Road in Marlborough. A dark purple-garnet colour in the glass. 40% Whole bunch in the winemaking lends both savoury spice and lavender florals to the bouquet. That floral tone flows through the palate too, with a distinct ‘mouth fragrance’. Juicy raspberry, cherry and plum, plus dried herbs, mocha and salami collide pleasantly mid-palate, supported by fine tannin and zesty acidity. A lot packed in. The finish is dry and has good length. 92pts
