A sparkling wine, made in the Champagne method, using Chardonnay grapes only, from this excellent Hawke’s Bay producer. A very pale lemon-green in the glass with a froth of fine bubbles. The bouquet is crisp and fresh, with lemon, white peach, grapefruit, green apple, honey and oat biscuit. A lively frame with intensity, energy and drive to the palate. Racy acidity is paired with a mealy, creamy texture. Light on its feet, with balance and a simple but polished character. The bead of bubbles is persistent to the end, finishing dry and long. 92pts
