A Méthode sparkling wine from Marlborough – using a blend of Chardonnay (85%) and Pinot Noir (15%) grapes, from selected blocks in vineyards across the Wairau and Awatere valleys. A pale golden-green in the glass, with a busy rush of tiny bubbles. A crisp, delicate bouquet shows citrus, almond, apple, apricot, hay and yeasty bread. Into the palate the fruit is accented by a vivacious acidity, offering a balance and interplay between that and a silky texture. Richer and almost creamy towards the back, carrying to a rounded, dry finish. 92pts
