A wine from Nelson – grown on the classic Moutere clay soils. Winner of a Gold Medal in this years NZIWS. A pale silvery-green in the glass. Perfumed with varietally-typical notes of poached pear, nectarine, ginger, white pepper, apple danish, lemon and a touch of jasmine florals. The entry to the just off-dry palate shows ripe fruit accented by crisp acidity. A hint of buttered toast and more baking spice emerges. Then a smooth texture adds to the decent weight mid-palate, and the finish has enough phenolic rasp to bring it back to a drier, lengthy finish. 91pts
