A Pinot Noir from the Wairau Valley in Marlborough. A youthful style, with a bright fruit-forward perfume of plum, bramble, orange peel, cherry and spice. The palate is lighter-bodied but has plenty of smoky oak and chewy tannin that gives a spine from which that zesty fruit branches out. A lick of acidity is also lively and heightens the succulent fruit on show. An uncomplicated drink-now example that is well-made and punchy. The finish is sleek and lingering. 88pts
