From Delgado Zuleta – founded in 1744 – one of the oldest wineries in Sanlucar de Barrameda (and oldest continually-active producers of sherry). A dry white wine made from muscat grapes, and aged for 6 months under the yeast of their ‘La Goya’ solera. A pale green-straw colour in the glass. Intriguing and effusively aromatic, sharing some similarities with a manzanilla. Scented with lime, blood orange, marmalade, jalapeno, almond, crushed shell and fresh yeast. Very dry and an immediate freshness to taste, with a briney acidity that has complexity and drive into the palate. Broadening and softer in the mid-palate, with some warmer fruit elements and a little white pepper. A good persistence to the finish. 93pts
