A white wine from Spain – their ‘Les Torres’ estate, at the top of the Penedès – just 30 km from the Mediterranean coast and Barcelona. A transparent lemon-green colour in the glass. Brightly perfumed with citrus, stonefruit and floral aromas. Comes alive on the fresh palate – intense and piercing, with a sharp, saline acidity. References to Albarino and Manzanilla found their way into my notes. A busy wine, with lots to see. There’s a slight edge of ‘natural’ to it, but actually it is super clean and quite polished – it is probably the less influence that is lending a phenolic bite and weight. A complex expression, with a creamier, lengthy finish. 93pts
