A wine from Ollie Powrie’s garage in Hawke’s Bay, using fruit from the Lyon’s Vineyard. A very pale lemon-green colour, with a delicate and light-bodied fragrance of lemon, grapefruit, apple, white nectarine and fresh almond meal. A good swirl brings a lift of spring flowers and herbs on the nose too. Fresh and crisp, with an agility and energy in the medium-bodied palate, led by a crunchy acidity. Great line and length, with a neat dusting of spice and oak that adds complexity as that length extends into a precise and persistent finish. 92pts
