A 50/50 blend of Syrah and Merlot from Birdwood in the Adelaide Hills. A brooding, dark burgundy in the glass. Aromas of bruised boysenberry, plum, blueberry, green herbs and black olive. Plush and fruit forward on the palate, filled with crunchy fruit. Tannin is restrained and supple, as is the oak. Acidity pushes the juice towards a linear and spicy finish. A simple food-friendly wine I’d have at a summer BBQ with a steak. 87pts
