One of New Zealand’s great white wines, from a single vineyard site in Hawke’s Bay
Pale yellow, lightening to lime green at the edges. An intense, powerful bouquet of pear, citrus, struck-match smokiness and roasted cashews. Crisp and youthful on the palate, with initial flavours of golden apple, lime zest and then sliding into ripe white peach concentration. Tightly structured, with a brightness of acidity, but all balancing beautifully alongside the spicy oakiness and a delicious lemon curd creaminess. A silky mouth-filling texture with a layer of beach pebble salinity that builds towards the long, poised but intense finish. 95pts. Excellent, one of the greats
