A single vineyard wine from Hawke’s Bay. One of New Zealand’s top dessert wines, it usually has a splash of Viognier in the final blend. A bronzed straw colour, with tinges of green, in the glass. An enticing perfume laden with a honeyed sweetness overlaid on golden fruit flavours – quince, peach, apricot and mandarin peel. The palate is waxy and textural, with that plushness of ripe fruit married to a vanilla and baking spice. Good weight and richness right through to the finish – the zesty acidity keeping things flowing along. 92pts
