A single vineyard wine from the Briant’s vineyard in the Patutahi region of Gisborne, just across the river from Matawhero. A vibrant green-gold colour in the glass. The perfume speaks of the varietal – with red apple, melon, ginger, white pepper, pea pod, nashi pear and a distinctive honeysuckle floral top note. A briney acidity is contrasted by the silky texture, the palate quite precise and intense. Layers of spice, crushed-shell minerals, and green herbals emerge as the glass evolves and expands. The finish is dry, well-balanced and refreshing. 92pts
