A wine from Marlenheim, Alsace in France. A pale straw in the glass, with a bright, sweet perfume of candied almonds, hay, apricot, honeycomb, lemon curd and golden apple. Medium-dry with a mouth-watering fruit ripeness and viscosity. The palate is rounded and concentrated, but has a lovely purity and freshness as well. Whilst the body is quite unctuous it doesn’t stray into cloying – the rich flavours are carried by a crisp acidity. The finish has spice and good length. 89pts
