Hand-picked Cabernet Franc and Merlot (equal parts) go into this rosé from the Waikato label that has turned a few heads with excellent wines recently. A perfect light salmon pink colour, with delicious aromatics of watermelon, cranberry, plum, satsuma, raspberry and a floral lift of rose petals. Bright acidity greets the palate, balanced well with a plush fruit sweetness and a light phenolic tang. Whilst the palate has energy and focus, the texture shows a rounded creaminess, which carries into the finish – lacy and silken. 91pts
