An updated tasting of a wine that made the list of our Top 10 Tasting of Pinot Noir in mid-2021. An inkily dark ruby red in the glass. A classically varietal nose, complex and finely balanced, with black doris plum, raspberry and morello cherry but then even more specifically showing that Wairarapa element of a loamy, forest floor character. Mid-weight and shows great finesse, developing rapidly in the glass. Gorgeous, clean and succulent fruit meets savoury tapenade and middle-eastern, sumac spices. A satisfying depth and structure – tannin, acidity and oak influence all combining pretty seamlessly. The finish is glossy and focussed with excellent length. 94pts
