In the glass this is a pale straw colour, slightly greener at the edges. Vibrant aromatics, with lemon peel, red apple, grapefruit, nectarine and almond. Racy acidity gives good drive through the palate, where those citrus and stonefruit flavours are enhanced with an oyster-shell minerality – a lovely balance of ripe fruit and saline, savoury elements. Well structured – this wine should last for a few more years yet – with the oak nicely judged, giving just a nibble of caramel; and there’s a touch of fruit tannin that adds to the dry, pithy note on the finish. 94pts
