From the Dillons Point sub-region of Marlborough – the vineyard planted in an old cow paddock. A translucent very pale, green-gold in the glass, with echoes of those classic Marlborough Sauvignon varietal stamp aromas – gooseberry, passionfruit and cut grass, but showing so much more besides. Lime peel, green olive, granny smith apple, blackcurrant and chamomile. A very tight, brilliantly acidic zing as you take a sip. Juicy, saline and dry, with a tropical turn towards melon, papaya and dried pineapple, but staying focussed and bright, with a great line through the palate. Great purity and depth to the impressively long finish. 94pts
