From a combination of vineyards that Mahi work with in Marlborough. A complex nose that starts with a reductive waft of smoky struck match, underlined with white peach, lemon balm, hazelnut, mandarin, acacia, fennel and orange blossom. Great concentration and focus on the palate, with some ripe stonefruit and tropical flavours balanced by savoury notes of preserved lemon and tarragon. The acidity is prime, with a saline flow through to the back of the palate. Texture is also on point, with a creamy, toasted brulée, butterscotch element that rounds things out nicely. 92pts
