A well-regarded Chardonnay – from Margaret River, in Western Australia. Restrained on the nose, with pear, fennel, red apple, lime zest, white smoke, green crushed herbs and honeysuckle aromatics. Tense and driven into the palate, with a pristine, linear acidity. A taut, coiled spring of a wine, still coming out of its shell. As the wine unwinds in the glass, there are some intruiging nuances – nougat, lemon blossom, and a saline minerality. Also, the texture that develops and builds is mealy, bony and with a hint of honeycomb. A clear, crisp, long finish. 92pts
