A pale lemon green in the glass, and with those delightful, vibrant aromatics that are beloved of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc (the wine is from the Wairau Valley in this vintage). Lovely blackcurrant, lemongrass, snow pea, passionfruit, greengage and sliced fresh herbs on the nose – pungent and inviting. A brisk acidity meets you on the palate, but also a notable richness and depth besides good fruit and a lime zest-drenched brightness. Mouth-filling and lengthy on the finish – this won the Trophy for Champion Sauvignon Blanc at NZIWS this year, and the reason why is clear in the glass. Crisp, textural and vivid. 94pts
