Densely aromatic, with cherry, dark chocolate, cardamom, raspberry, clove, shortbread, plum and lilac florals. Rich, smooth and full-bodied with savoury umami notes of cola, marmite and tapenade alongside the lush fruits. Nice structure, with svelte tannins, spicy oak and a compelling, luxurious texture. Deep, concentrated and succulent with a good line of acidity to keep things moving. A little young yet – the 2015 from the Top 10 Tasting certainly showed more integration and complexity, but this is heading in the same direction, just needs a couple more years. 92pts
