From Northland – made by award-winning winemaker Rod MacIvor, from fruit grown overlooking the Te Puna inlet in the beautiful Bay of islands vineyard. A medium straw-gold in the glass, with a rich nose of caramel, nectarine, grapefruit, verbena and lemon blossom. Medium bodied, with good acidity and flow into the palate of ripe tropical and citrus fruits. Oak is apparent and gives robust ‘old school’ toasty, cashew notes that frame the plush fruits. A delightful, creamy texture coast the finish, with a little drying, pithy character brings a little extra right at the close. 88pts.
