A Hawke’s Bay wine, from the coastal vineyards at Te Awanga. Palest lemon-green in the glass, with a burst of fresh citrus on the nose – lemon, grapefruit pith, white cherry, greengage and dried apple. Herbal, with soft, crushed chamomile and pineapple sage characters. Acidity is bright and lively, highlighting the succulent fruit, and framed by a distinctive oyster shell mineral salinity. Texture is light, delicate and allows the wine to wisp away to an ethereal, tantalising finish – showing some flowering herbal notes again at the end. 91pts.
