A Pinot Noir from Te Muna Road in Martinborough – Pinot country! A deep crimson in the glass, with cranberry, bramble, cloves, pepper and a violet, rose petal floral lift on the nose. Dry, medium bodied and with a bright acidity. Elegant and rounded on the palate, showing ripe cherry and plum, with notes of mocha and liquorice underneath. A lovely savoury line also develops deeper into the wine – a peaty earthiness, olive, sage, and a crushed-rock minerality. Texturally smooth and with fine, supple tannins. Finishes long, with a gentle harmony as the elements meld together. 93pts.
