From vineyards in Kumeu, West Auckland, and the excellent 2019 vintage. Intensely aromatic, with orange peel, white peach, ginger, greengage and honeysuckle on the nose. A bright acidity with just a hint of fruit sweetness leads to a broad palate where the classic varietal flavours flood in. Pear, lychee and preserved lemon, roast chestnut, with cinnamon, nutmeg and fresh baked bread. Rich, with nice depth but balanced, agile and real power. Texture is spot on, showing silky phenolics and the finish is long and delicious. 93pts.
