Villa Maria has released its new Single Vineyard wines, showcasing the distinctive qualities of some of their finest vineyard sites. Embodying the profound influence of diverse terroirs, this premium range was unveiled as a collection on 1 November.
“The Single Vineyard collection represents the most regionally and stylistically diverse fine wine portfolio in the country”, says Matthew Deller MW, Villa Maria’s Chief Global Sales and Marketing Officer. “The collection takes wine lovers on a journey through New Zealand, and with small quantities of these exceptional wines produced, demand is expected to be strong locally and internationally.”
Last year’s release of Villa Maria’s Keltern and Ihumatao 2019 Chardonnays sold out in record time and with the collection destined for premium fine wine shops and luxury restaurants around the world, including New York, London, Moscow, Vancouver and Shanghai, global demand is once again predicted to outweigh supply.
Nick Picone, Villa Maria Chief Winemaker says: “The Villa Maria Single Vineyard wines capture a moment in time that tell unique stories of the season, the soil and the environment in which the grapes were grown. With their individual characteristics, not only do they talk to a sense of place, they embody the skill and passion of the entire Villa Maria team. A true showcase of the very best New Zealand has to offer, we are excited about releasing our Single Vineyard range and getting these wines into the glasses of wine lovers around the world.”
In previous years Villa Maria has launched its Single Vineyard wines as each is bottled and matured, however taking a new approach, all Single Vineyard wines will be launched collectively on an annual basis on 1 November from 2021 onwards.
The new Single Vineyard wines will be available in select retailers and online at www.villamariawines.com/wines/.
