From the old block of vines at the estate vineyard in Marlborough. Aromatic, with golden apple, mandarin, lychee, apricot, greengage and lovely delicate florals of rose petal and lemon blossom. Just off-dry, with a moderate, balanced acidity. Through the palate is a seam of spice – cardamom, ginger, cloves and pithy fruit peel with a hint of preserved lemon. Turning into more tropical notes and deepening in concentration and depth as it settles into a lush, honeyed texture. The finish starts to show just a little minerality and is a mile-long. 95pts. Excellent.
