From the Estate’s ‘Om Santi Vineyard’ in Martinborough. A pale lemon straw yellow in the glass, with a rich, elegant nose of peach, lemon blossom, grapefruit, hazelnut, apple pie and a distinctive briny salinity. Acidity is even, crisp and flows through to a palate flooded with ripe stonefruit, spicy with nutmeg, citrus zest and vanilla. There’s a depth and warmth in layers underneath that brightness, with toasty oak notes, and a salted caramel, biscuit crumb… and then the texture takes over, coating the mouth with a golden, creamy custard-like viscosity. More mineral, crushed shell and sea salt towards the finish – long and succulent. 95pts.
