Bright and vibrant ruby red in the glass, with an effusive aroma of redcurrant, cherry and rosehip, with a lovely floral lift of violets. The lighter colour belies a broad structure and a concentrated palate rich with red plum, boysenberry, campari and a balsamic, birch sap note. Medium acidity, but with smooth, fine-grained black tea-like tannins – silky and taut. Nice use of oak, rich, warming and balanced. A little minerality, with savoury thyme and coffee grounds towards the long and succulent finish. 92pts.
