From the Soler vineyard in Hawke’s Bay, using Merlot grapes to create this Biogro-certified organic wine. The perfect rosé colour (for me) – a bright salmon pink with a touch of orange colour in the glass. It brightens the table. Vibrant aromas of watermelon, elderflower, apricot and rosehip.
Dry, with just enough fruit sweetness for a lovely balance, and a medium acidity. Watermelon, cranberry and kumquat with an oyster shell mineral edge on the palate. Luxurious, silken texture and a long, taut finish – a well-crafted rosé that I’d happily drink all year. 91pts.
