The concept is scarily simple, choose from whites, reds or mixed and each month six carefully selected bottles of wine from a featured local winery will be delivered to your door with detailed tasting notes, food match suggestions and the wineries story as told by them. It’s a unique chance to enrich your wine drinking experience and enjoy incredibly priced, hand-selected wines, while learning what makes the Winery so special without the faff.
Many people find the subject of wine monstrous, but Wine Monster has tamed the beast and travelled the length and breadth of the country to make it easy for you to discover regions, blends and grapes you’ve never heard of and drops you never thought you’d try. Nothing scary about it.
Founders Dan Phillips and Adam Prentice asked their mate Gareth Stewart – My Kitchen Rules Judge and Executive Chef – to come on board and help take Wine Monster to the next level.
“As a group of friends and passionate wine drinkers we are really excited about extending the experience you get when visiting a cellar door direct to people’s homes,” says Stewart. “It’s exciting and intimate and you get to learn what makes a place unique from the people that, often, built it from the ground up. We think there is something romantic about taking it slow, one vineyard at a time, and giving each winemaker the undivided attention they deserve.”
So, whether you’ve always thought you’re a connoisseur when it comes to tasting wine, or, you’re not quite sure how someone decided that aromas of freshly cut grass made it into the wine, it doesn’t matter. Wine Monster can be enjoyed no matter your credentials and you don’t have to be an expert to say, ‘that’s a bloody good drop’.
