The 2020 rosé is made from Malbec, off the Lesley’s vineyard in Bridge Pa, Hawke’s Bay. Bright cerise-pink, a decent depth of colour, almost like a light red wine. Vibrant aromas of cherry, bubblegum, cranberry and spring flowers. Crisp and light-medium bodied – ripe with pear, redcurrant, candy apple and strawberry on the palate. A zing of bright acidity balances nicely with the plush texture, with a rounded creaminess. The finish is sweet and with a lightly mineral edge. 92pts. Best rosé of the summer so far?
