An elegant and complex bouquet with nectarine, red apple and almond biscuit notes. Medium bodied, with a supple and creamy texture, cut with a moderate acidity. Still quite restrained on the palate – opening up with a little time, and showing lemon, peach, and vanilla custard flavours. Showing delicacy and tension rather than weight and power; I still find that quartzy shiver of mineral and salinity that, for me, is often a feature of Central Otago Chardonnays. Towards the back of the palate there’s a return of that sweet nut character and a little enrichment from the subtle oak. 92pts.
