From estate fruit at Te Awanga, this coastal Chardonnay has a full bouquet of roast almond, yellow peach, oatmeal biscuit and citrus. Opulent and concentrated with a medium-full body. Rich, but not cloying, peach, grapefruit and guava flavours, and a nicely judged, balanced acidity that drives through the palate. Complex and layered, with a real vibrancy to the fruit. There’s a lush creamy texture and lees influence lending a toasted marshmallow and lemon curd undertow to the long, mineral and slightly pithy finish. 92pts.
