A classic combination of two Bordeaux varieties, and in many ways, a typical Hawke’s Bay red with the merlot a touch dominant over the inky Malbec spine. Gimblett Gravels fruit – deeply coloured, with a lush bouquet of ripe berries, mocha and a toasty oak undertow.
Generous and fruit-laden with a lushness of summer blackberries and ripe plums. Enriched with a good tannic backbone that leads to a well-rounded and smooth but spicy finish. Unashamedly old-school kind of red, perfect for an autumn roast or a grilled steak.
