A new single varietal wine from The Landing on the Purerua Peninsula in the Bay of Islands, in Northland. Cabernet Franc is perhaps a growing trend in New Zealand, and that is fine by me, as a fan of the wines made from this Bordeaux native variety. 2024 was a stunning vintage. This new bottling is available exclusively to their Wine Club members or at on-site tastings. A deep purple/garnet colour in the glass. The bouquet is saturated with red fruits, with aromas of cherry, redcurrant and red plum. There’s a lovely, lifted floral note as well as deeper tones of wood smoke and roasted spices. The medium-weight palate has a good balance between the piquant acidity, clean, ripe juice and warm toast from oak barrels. An elegant expression, with great bones and a high probability of development if cellared well. 93pts
