A wine from Alexandra in Central Otago, in an excellent vintage for the region. A deep ruby red colour in the glass. The nose has that Central Otago cherry note, with raspberry, black pepper, thyme, sumac topped off with a delicate layer of dried petal florals. Dry, medium bodied and finely balanced – led by a juicy acidity, but underlined with granular tannins that sneak around the edge of the palate. The spice builds nicely towards the back, and the finish has plenty of length, with that drying, spiciness lasting. 92pts
