A wine from Marlborough – winner of a Silver medal at NZIWS in the 2023 awards. A pale, silvery lemon colour in the glass. An inviting perfume that has excellent varietal typicity – you know this is Pinot Gris by the pear, ginger and baking spice notes, rounded out with satsuma, peach and honeysuckle floral notes. The ripeness might trick you into considering this to be an off-dry style, but I think it is drier than the generous fruit suggests. Well-balanced with enough acidity to give a fresh crispness and drive through the palate. The finish has some weight and length too. 90pts
