A Pinot Noir from Bannockburn in Central Otago, using fruit from the estate vineyard. A deep ruby purple colour in the glass. Boysenberry, black cherry, damson and bramble fruits, with flowering thyme, lavendar and rose petal florals in the perfume. Medium-bodied, with good concentration over a core of fine, elegant tannin, toasty oak and juicy acidity that accents the plush ripeness. A little savoury flavour towards the back of the palate – roasted root vegetables, terracotta, mushroom and more of that Bannockburn dried, woody herb quality. A long finish, and great cellaring potential. 93pts
