Te Kairanga ‘John Martin’ Pinot Noir 2024

Te Kairanga ‘John Martin’ Pinot Noir 2024

A Pinot Noir from Martinborough: named after the founding father of Martinborough, John Martin – winner of a Gold Medal at NZIWS this year. A striking deep burgundy purple colour in the glass. Scented with blackberry, cherry, raspberry, damson and violet florals. Quite tight and youthful, with a structure of grippy but fine tannin, moderate acidity and plenty of spicy, savoury tones – cloves, nori, salami and mushroom – to offset that ripe juice. Medium-bodied but with good concentration and depth, and a long, dry finish. 93pts
