A Riesling from this excellent boutique producer in Marlborough. The inviting bouquet shows plenty of varietal typicity, with green apple, lemon, lime zest, nutmeg, baguette, chamomile and freesia florals. Just off-dry, with a nibble of residual sugar, but tasting more generous than that, which offsets the fresh acidity, and the palate bristles with energy. Another contrast is the chalky minerality with the lush texture – again, it creates tension and interest, with movement and clarity in equal measures as you go. A decent length to the finish too. 92pts
