A Sauvignon Blanc from Central Otago – grown in Rockburn’s Parkburn Vineyard. A very pale, translucent golden-green colour in the glass. Grapefruit, green capsicum, whitecurrant, sliced fennel and almond on the nose. Bright, juicy and concentrated into the medium-weight palate. There is a touch of white pepper, tarragon and cardamom in layers as the steely acidity courses through. More tropical notes appear towards the back of the palate, with a touch of canteloupe and fig. Quite elegant and well-structured (it has 18 months in barrel) with plenty of ageing potential. Dry and zesty on the long finish. 93pts
