Hailing from the Omaka Valley region of Marlborough, one of the range of exciting Pinot Noirs coming from Winemaker of the Year, Hamish Clark at Saint Clair Family Estate. A deep ruby hue, with bright aromas of cherry and damson underpinned by dried herbal notes. Ripe fruits of redcurrants and plum are centred with a streak of smokey French Oak (30% new) and enticing chocolate box. Medium bodied and sweetly concentrated, a delicious balance between fruit-forward and savoury styles. Showing supple tannins and layers of complexity, this is a wine to look forward to developing real character in the bottle if cellared well. A long dry and velvety finish.
