Sacred Hill Reserve Chardonnay 2017

Sacred Hill vineyard

A Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay, from the Rifleman’s Terraces.

Pale straw with green edging in the glass. Starting with a bright aroma of cashews and candied peel, with a sweet baked vanilla note present too. A medium bodied wine with a textural palate of yeast and creaminess (50% barrel ferment and 7 months on lees).

The spicy French oak influence is well balanced with an aromatic grapefruit core and some racey but well-integrated acidity. The finish is lengthy and succulent. A mouthwatering and rich style of Chardonnay – perfect for food matching like a roast chicken salad, or grilled lamb chops. Good value at just over the $20 mark for such a generous and complex wine.
