A white wine from this estate in the Moutere sub-region of Nelson. A pale golden colour in the glass, with a perfume that is a little shy to reveal itself, but with a good swirl shows aromas of apple pie, dried pineapple, lemon peel, grapefruit and white pepper. Still showing a first flush of youth, with a fresh acidity and bags of energy in the palate. Peppery and lively, with good mouth-filling texture and weight through the mid-palate. Some alcohol heat is apparent – again, a bit edgy and angular – I imagine it will settle. The finish has a dash of minerality, with a chalky, dry finish. 90pts
