From the Blind River sub-region of Marlborough, in a vintage described by the producers as “one of the best in a decade” – a wine that has won many medals in recent years. A silvery, pale green-yellow in the glass. On the nose there is nectarine, pear, honey, almond, jasmine, buttered toast, ginger and lemon curd. Although quite dry in the palate, the ripe fruit gives a plushness and weight. Creamy and slightly viscose with enough spice and a nibble of peppery tannin to hold your interest through to a well-balanced finish. A great food-friendly drop for the summer table. 91pts
