At WineFolio we’re really thrilled for the arrival of the top quality chardonnays from the stellar 2019 vintage – but a review must note these are likely to be in their very early days yet, and any serious wine will likely have plenty of years to go before it hits its best drinking..
A new venture from Mathew Kirby, Sarah Little and David Nash – this new wine just released – beautifully presented with a cork seal and bright sunshine golden wax seal.
A very pale lemon yellow, light green edges, and an inviting nose of pear, citrus zest, and a flinty gunsmoke. It’s still in its infancy – quite tight and densely packed. A steely spine of acidity rips through the concentrated flavours of grapefruit, red apple and peach melba with a lick of oyster shell mineral. There is a rounded creamy texture, and elegantly oaked – just a polish of roasted cashew lingering. Delicious flavours of sugared almonds and lemon curd brioche combine to a long, vibrant finish.
93pts with more to come I’m sure.
